Job Summary
Dispatch Supervisor (Communications Supervisor) responsible for supervising day-to-day transit service operations, monitoring real-time service performance, and coordinating with dispatch, field supervision, and control center teams. Requires minimum 3 years dispatch experience, high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication and customer service skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to work in a union environment with flexible hours (nights/weekends/holidays). Key duties include supervising operations, monitoring CAD/AVL systems, issuing instructions during incidents, coordinating service changes, maintaining radio communications, documenting incidents, data entry and reporting, and ensuring safety and compliance with agency policies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years dispatch experience in fast-paced environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Intermediate computer experience (Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Attention to detail
- Customer service experience
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a union environment
- Flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays
