Job Summary
Supervise day-to-day transit service operations by monitoring real-time service via CAD/AVL systems, radio, and communication tools to adjust resources for delays, disruptions, or emergencies. Relay critical service updates to passengers and coordinate with field supervisors, maintenance, and emergency responders during incidents. Maintain clear radio communications with operators, enforce protocol, and document all incidents and corrective actions per agency policy. Enter operational data into management systems and generate reports for leadership while ensuring adherence to schedules, routes, and safety regulations. Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays in an office or field setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years prior dispatch experience in fast-paced environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Intermediate computer experience, to include Microsoft Office Suite
- High level of attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Strong organizational planning skills
- Strong practical skills
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Basic math skills with strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Drug screening: Pursuant to Department of Transportation regulations, employment for safety-sensitive positions will be contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen and a physical examination
- Employment will also be contingent upon completion of a background check consistent with applicable federal, state, and/or local laws
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
