Job Summary
Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils as they arrive throughout the shift, then operate commercial dishwashing equipment to ensure all items are properly sanitized, dried, and stored. Replenish clean dishes and glassware to designated stations while sweeping and mopping the dish area to maintain a safe, dry floor. Manage chemical safety and assist with light prep work, communicating effectively with back-of-house and front-of-house teams to support service flow. Adhere to company food safety, sanitation, and labeling policies, completing assigned closing or side work duties.
Required Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience
- Must demonstrate basic understanding of food handling, sanitation, and prep procedures
- Ability to read, write and speak fluently, in the primary language of the property location
- Ability to apply common sense, define problems, collect data and notify management when necessary
- Ability to successfully re-prioritize tasks in a moment's notice
- Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
- Strong attention to detail with consistent execution of prep standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High integrity, reliability, and openness to feedback
- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a restaurant setting
- Physical ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Physical ability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight
- Physical ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard
- Physical ability to verbally communicate to exchange information
