Job Summary
Dishwasher role supporting the culinary team in a busy Seattle campus dining environment. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area, washing kitchen utensils, equipment and dishes by machine or by hand, putting away clean dishes, stocking supplies in serving stations, sweeping and washing floors, sorting and removing trash, potentially assisting with food preparation as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef, unloading deliveries, and maintaining a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers. Requires ability to work as part of a team, knowledge of operating a commercial dishwasher, and adherence to food safety/sanitation practices. Preference given to candidates with restaurant dishwashing experience and the ability to pass a background check, plus certification in food safety/ sanitation or ability to obtain within 30 days. The role may involve exposure to heat, chemicals, loud environments, and requires standing up to 8+ hours and lifting up to 50 pounds. Required Qualifications
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Working knowledge operating a commercial dishwasher
- Be familiar with the industry's best practices
- Have a valid food safety handler and sanitation certification in accordance with state and local regulations or obtain one within 30 days of employment
- High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, preferred.
