Job Summary
Operate a dishwasher and food disposal equipment safely while washing, sanitizing, and storing dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment. Clean floors, prep surfaces, and the dish room area per facility protocol, maintaining a safe, organized work space. Assist kitchen staff with basic prep or cleaning tasks as needed. This hands-on role supports dietary services at the New Hampshire Veterans Home by keeping the kitchen running smoothly for veteran residents. Prior food service experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate a dishwasher and/or food disposal unit
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push carts
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Flexibility to work indoors and/or outdoors depending on event needs
- Criminal background check (National Criminal Records Check or NH Release of Criminal Record Authorization)
- BEAS State Registry check
- OIG Exclusion List screening (at hire, with monthly re-screening thereafter)
- Annual Conviction Disclosure Attestation
- Fitness-for-duty attestation, and physical/drug testing where applicable
- Review and attestation of NHVH policies and procedures (at hire and annually)
