Job Summary
Maintain a clean kitchen by washing, sorting, and organizing soiled dishes while keeping the dish area clutter-free and properly set up. Monitor dish water temperature during the sanitized wash cycle and record it on a log. Wash dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and flatware using machines or by hand, then place air-dried items in storage. Clean work areas including equipment, floors, and walls, ensuring all chemicals are kept filled and trash is removed and sanitized. Assist with accepting deliveries, storing items, and transferring supplies between storage and work areas. Occasionally assist in kitchen prep and adhere to the dress code. Work nights, weekends, and holidays while completing required pre-employment food service training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Food Handlers Permit Required in accordance with the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift
- Ability to reach up to 6-7 feet
- Ability to twist at waist, bending and squatting
- Ability to push and pull equipment, mops and brooms
- Ability to work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- English preferred as primary language, but not required
