Job Summary
Keep the kitchen sparkling by sweeping, mopping, and breaking down boxes. Power through dish duty by loading, running, and unloading industrial dishwashers to ensure a steady supply of clean dishes and cutlery. Scrub pots and pans, store them properly, and receive/organize deliveries of dry goods, produce, and meat. Move food, supplies, and equipment between kitchen spaces as needed. Pitch in wherever required to support the team and take on other duties as assigned. This permanent, part-time role requires Saturdays and Sundays availability (approx. 24 hours/week). You must have a Food Handler's Certificate and experience in a professional or institutional kitchen. Join the Food Services team at Canada's National Ballet School to help maintain a clean, safe environment for students and guests.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a food services role, ideally in a professional or institutional kitchen
- A valid Food Handler's Certificate
- Solid understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and WHMIS practices
- Confidence using industrial dish machines and the 3-compartment sink method
- Ability to follow instructions and stick to routines
- Knowledge of health & safety and safe food handling practices
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Strong interpersonal skills—you're a team player through and through
- Weekend availability is a must
- Successful candidates must supply Canada's National Ballet School with a Police Reference Check in accordance with the School's Child Abuse/Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy
