Job Summary
Wash, organize, and stock all dishes, silverware, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans while maintaining front and back-of-house floors, walls, ceilings, and trash disposals. Ensure clean and functional stations by keeping areas stocked with sanitary items such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap. Enforce and meet safety and sanitation requirements under regular supervision. This role supports Cornell Dining's mission of nourishing the future for students and staff across multiple campuses. Position may require evening, weekend, and holiday hours with schedules subject to change.
Required Qualifications
- Basic proficiency in English involving reading, writing, math and verbal articulation
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. occasionally and up to 50 lbs. (minimal)
- Must be able to reach over your head, stand for long periods of time, occasional squatting, frequent bending, and conduct repetitive motion, such as chopping, stirring, and mixing
- Must be able to withstand frequent/continuous exposure to temperature changes and a variety of environmental and sensory impacts, including but not limited to cold, heat, steam, smoke, slippery floors, and food waste areas
- Must be able to use kitchen equipment, as well as be able to learn the utilization of advanced cooking equipment as needed
- Must be customer-service driven, flexible and team oriented as well as display good time management skills
- Must embrace Cornell Dining Code of Professionalism and support Cornell Dining's overarching mission

Desired Qualifications
- Additional education or experience including previous dish machine operation experience with knowledge of proper sanitation and HACCP procedures helpful and highly preferred
