Disease-Focused Oncology Nurse Navigator

Job Summary
Coordinate care needs for assigned patients and develop comprehensive care plans across the continuum of care. Partner with patients and primary physicians to create customized, needs-based care strategies while collaborating with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of tests and treatments. Advocate for patients to balance clinical care with financial considerations, optimizing treatment outcomes and resource utilization. Monday through Friday, 8:00a to 4:30p, with hybrid work at University Hospital after on-site orientation. Requires an active RN license in Indiana or NLC, BLS certification, and 3-5 years of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associates of Nursing (ASN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- 3-5 years of clinical work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
- Additional advanced life support certifications
- Specialty certifications
- Knowledge of personal computers, word processing, and database software
- Understanding of medical terminology, medical record requirements, regulations, and policies
