Job Summary
Provide on-campus teaching in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and oversee medical student education at clinical sites. Collaborate with faculty from other VCOM campuses to annually update the clinical curriculum and exams. Serve as an individual advisor to students by supporting the specialty organization monthly and assisting those pursuing residency. Participate in the student interview process, attend the monthly Clinical Chairs Meeting to assess program quality, and engage in research and scholarly activity. Support the College by serving on standing committees and promotion boards. Maintain regular, reliable attendance and respond to email communications in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- State medical license in Alabama
- Residency and/or Fellowship completion (in the field of specialty rotation or in the core discipline with a concentration of practice in the field rather than fellowship)
- Board Certified in ONMM
- Clinical practice experience in OMM
- Experience with the education of medical students and/or residents in an academic setting
- Regular, reliable or predictable attendance

- Prior teaching experience (whether in classroom setting, in clinical setting, in CME, or in residency setting)
- Demonstrated ability in leadership to achieve proficiency in academics and research
