Job Summary
Disaster Workforce Engagement Specialist ownership includes guiding and supporting volunteer teams to deliver disaster cycle services, building a foundation of continuous, robust volunteer engagement, and collaborating with volunteer services staff. You will work with volunteers to prepare communities to respond to disasters, deploy to disaster relief operations outside the region at least once a year, and partner with local organizations to enhance frontline community resilience. The role emphasizes coordinating staff and volunteer activities, ensuring culturally and linguistically appropriate service, and achieving targets for volunteer engagement and Disaster Action Team responses within an assigned geographic area. Based in Philadelphia with regional travel and required training to meet deployment readiness, the position focuses on empowering volunteers, program support, community engagement, and readiness activities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential.
