Disaster Recovery Engineer – Operational Resilience & AI Automation

Job Summary
Lead the modernization and continuous improvement of the Disaster Recovery program by driving technology recovery planning, dependency management, and AI-enabled orchestration. Develop working knowledge of Business Continuity processes to provide initial analysis, triage, coordination, and support for planning activities including Business Impact Analysis and recovery strategy development. Partner with business stakeholders, IT, and global virtual teams to ensure alignment between business recovery requirements and technology capabilities while leading governance of AI-enabled workflows. Execute recovery testing, validate recovery objectives, and communicate business impacts to drive corrective actions and program standards. This third-shift role (10:00 pm - 7:00 am IST) requires a Master's degree or equivalent experience in Risk Management or Information Systems. Amgen serves patients living with serious illnesses through innovative medicines in Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Bachelor's degree and 5 to 9 years of experience in Risk Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- Familiarity with automation concepts, AI-enabled workflows, and Agentic AI principles, with the ability and willingness to learn and apply emerging technologies to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity processes
- Must have experience leading and influencing efforts of diverse teams
- Must enjoy and feel comfortable building rapport and collaborating with diverse individuals
- Must produce new ideas through adaptability to make business continuity, disaster recovery, and AI-enabled resilience concepts relevant and relatable to staff around the globe
- Must be highly motivated and move quickly to recognize and resolve issues
- Must take ownership and set high expectations for self and the program while working diligently to achieve results with a systems and automation mindset
- Candidates must be willing and able to work during night shifts, as required
- Third Shift: 10:00 pm - 7:00 am IST
Desired Qualifications
- Degree educated in a business-related, information systems, computer science, risk management, or related subject
- Strong/proven project management skills to meet deliverables and goals
- Experience leading Disaster Recovery planning, recovery testing, dependency mapping, recovery governance, technology resilience, and operational resilience initiatives, with working knowledge of Business Continuity planning, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), and continuity coordination
- Experience designing, implementing, integrating, testing, maintaining, and continuously improving Agentic AI-enabled workflows across enterprise platforms
- Experience designing AI-enabled workflows that identify process improvements while incorporating governance, fallback, override, recovery, and escalation capabilities
- Experience ensuring policy and standard compliance for AI or Agentic AI solutions
- Experience applying AI or Agentic AI to automate Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning, plan generation, dependency mapping, process analysis, reporting, and exercise development
- Experience mapping dependencies across vendors, suppliers, technology, resources, critical systems, and other factors that influence BC/DR readiness
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated with strong analytical, troubleshooting, learning agility, initiative, and follow-through skills
- Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams and independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
