Job Summary
Disaster Program Manager at the American Red Cross in Amarillo, TX. Oversees volunteer teams and disaster-cycle services across the assigned geographic area, focusing on mass care, response, community preparedness, recovery, planning, and readiness. Responsible for empowering volunteers, leading program activities, building mission capacity, developing disaster leadership among volunteers, and engaging community partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Requires collaboration with internal partners, deployment readiness, and a strong emphasis on serving diverse communities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with building, mobilizing, leading and developing volunteer teams to execute a social services program or service
- A Valid Driver’s License and a clean MVR
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills to interpret program trends, results, formulate recommendations, and develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements
- Proven record of collaboration with diverse groups and individuals representative of all demographics of the community
- Managing multiple priorities, facilitation, problem solving, marketing, leadership, and partnership management
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to work outside of regular duty hours including nights and weekends
