Job Summary
Disability Support Worker responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming), providing emotional support and companionship, aiding mobility and transportation, administering medications, and supporting meal preparation and household tasks. Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborate with healthcare professionals and families to ensure optimal care, maintain accurate records, and promote independence and community integration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in disability support or related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors and situations
- Knowledge of disability rights and advocacy
