Job Summary
Support residents to follow structured routines, increase independence, and participate meaningfully in daily life while implementing proactive and reactive behaviour strategies. Provide community access and skill-building opportunities, ensuring accurate documentation and consistent communication with the support team and families. Administer medications including PRN requirements, maintain calm during high-intensity incidents, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote resident dignity. Work flexible shifts including weekends, sleepovers, and public holidays to meet short-notice staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Sound judgement
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Ability to implement behaviour support strategies consistently, safely, and in line with individual support plans
- Ability to promote the person's independence, dignity, and quality of life
- Reliable, flexible, and proactive team members
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, sleepovers, and public holidays
- Ability to respond to short-notice staffing requirements when required
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and stakeholders
- Minimum 2+ years' experience supporting people with autism and complex behaviours of concern
- Ability to remain calm and implement de-escalation techniques during high-intensity incidents
- Confident working independently while following detailed support plans
- Strong communication and adaptability to everyone's needs
- Patient, respectful and committed to improving quality of life
- Current NSW Driver's Licence

- Availability for a variety of shifts, including weekends
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

- First Aid & CPR
