Job Summary
Provide personalised, hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and physical impairments, focusing on dignity, independence, and respect within culturally safe environments. Ensure tikanga Māori values are upheld in every aspect of whare life while assisting with personal care, cooking, hygiene, daily routines, and medication support. Collaborate with the team to build life skills and community connections, maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment through regular handovers and team hui. Full-time, 40-hour rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Requires a New Zealand driver's licence and reliable transport.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in disability support, mental health, or life skills support
- A calm, caring and respectful approach to supporting others
- Willingness to learn about kaupapa Māori values and practices
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Flexible and reliable
- Availability to work rostered shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Full NZ driver's licence
- Reliable transport
