Job Summary
Support tāngata with personal cares, cooking meals, hygiene, daily routines, and medication support while ensuring tikanga Māori values are upheld in every aspect of whare life. Build independence, confidence, and life skills by working alongside individuals to foster connections with whānau, culture, and community. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment through collaborative team efforts, including participating in hui, handovers, and ongoing learning. Work full-time, 32 hours per week across a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Requires a New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (desirable), full NZ driver's licence, and reliable transport.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in disability support, mental health, or life skills support
- A calm, caring and respectful approach to supporting others
- Willingness to learn about kaupapa Māori values and practices
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Flexible and reliable
- Availability to work rostered shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Full NZ driver's licence
- Reliable transport
