Job Summary
Provide direct care and support to clients in the North Shore and Eastern Suburbs, including personal care, respite, domestic assistance, meal preparation, and shopping. Transport clients to appointments and day programs while managing complex needs, behavioral support plans, and health care requirements. Handle banking and bill paying tasks to ensure meaningful community engagement. Requires a driver's license, own vehicle, and ability to work flexible hours. Offers outstanding pay packages, paid travel time reimbursement, and fully funded learning opportunities for Certificate III & IV qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in providing direct care to people with complex needs, people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours
- Experience in SIL - Supported Independent Living
- Understanding of Person-Centred plans, Behaviour Support plans and Health Care plans
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and its implication for clients
- High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated high level communication skills
- Must have driver's licence, vehicle with comprehensive insurance and willingness to use for work purposes
- Ability to work flexible hours
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
Desired Qualifications
- Education in Epilepsy Awareness
- Relevant qualifications in Disability, Social Services or Nursing (minimum Certificate III level)
- Knowledge and an understanding of Jewish values, heritage and culture
