Job Summary
Implement personalized care plans by assisting with personal tasks like showering and dressing, managing domestic assistance including garden maintenance, and preparing meals through planning, shopping, and cooking. Provide social support by transporting participants to community activities, engaging in their interests, and facilitating life skills development. Maintain accurate client documentation using computer systems while adhering to strict infection control and medication competency standards. Work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, utilizing a reliable insured vehicle for transport duties.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum qualification at Certificate III level in one of the following: Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, Community Services, Disability, Aged Care/HACC or Allied Health Assistant
- Current First Aid Certificate
- CPR certificate
- Medication Competency
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Infection Control Certificate
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Commitment to using a human rights-based, person-centred approach in working with people with all types of disability and maximising their choice and control at all times
- Sound knowledge of the NDIS and how it can assist people to achieve their goals
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with and relate well to people we support and their families, especially those with diverse communication styles and needs
- Knowledge of local community networks and a demonstrated commitment to ensuring the community has a positive image of people with disabilities and mental health issues
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others as part of a team and contribute to team goals
- Demonstrated computer use competency, including client information management systems, email, administrative and clinical documentation skills
- Willingness to participate in shift work, which may include various days, weekends, afternoons and/or evenings, and public holidays
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Current Working with Children Check or be prepared to apply for one
- NDIS worker screening check
- Current Drivers Licence A or C-A class
