Disability Support Worker

Job Summary

Provide person-centred support to participants with complex needs, including personal care, daily living assistance, and manual handling for hoist transfers. Facilitate community access, social support, and transportation to appointments while maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation. Promote participant choice, dignity, and independence across a range of disabilities, including acquired brain injury, dementia, and vision impairment. Requires a full Australian driver's license, reliable vehicle, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and First Aid/CPR certification. Permanent part-time role (15 hours/week) with ongoing training opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to participants with acquired brain injury, non-verbal communication needs, vision impairment, dementia, physical disabilities, and complex or challenging behaviours
  • Experience with hoist transfers and manual handling techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional, reliable, and punctual work ethic
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and career development
  • Flexibility and a positive, can-do attitude
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
