Job Summary
Provide personal care, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and assistance with activities of daily living. Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe manual handling while supporting the participant to maintain independence and established daily routines. Monitor wellbeing, promptly escalate changes, and follow detailed care plans, falls prevention strategies, and risk management procedures. Prepare meals, manage household tasks, and facilitate community access and meaningful participation. Complete accurate documentation and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and dignity. This role supports a participant with Parkinson's disease in a high-responsibility SIL environment in Langwarrin, focusing on promoting autonomy within structured, evidence-informed care.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), Disability, Aged Care, or an equivalent qualification
- Experience providing personal care, mobility assistance, transfers, and meal assistance
- Demonstrated competency in safe manual handling techniques
- Strong understanding of care plans, scope of practice, and escalation procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Full Australian working rights
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting participants living with Parkinson's disease or other neurological conditions
- Experience working in Supported Independent Living (SIL)
- Experience supporting participants with high falls risk and complex mobility needs
