Job Summary
Provide respectful, person-centred daily support within a Specialist Disability Accommodation home for a male participant with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 3 and an intellectual disability. Establish a trusting professional relationship by following established support plans, routines, and risk-management strategies while promoting the participant's safety, dignity, and independence. Administer medication per policy, maintain accurate progress and incident records, and collaborate with family and allied health professionals. Respond safely to behaviours of concern using proactive positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques. This role requires a male support worker with relevant experience in complex needs, a Certificate III qualification, and valid NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children checks.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting participants with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 3
- Experience supporting people with intellectual disability and complex support needs
- Experience responding to behaviours of concern and challenging situations
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support and restrictive-practice requirements
- Experience following Behaviour Support Plans and other participant-specific care plans
- A minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health, or relevant qualification
- Strong English communication and documentation skills
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A current Working with Children Check, where required
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- An unrestricted Australian driver's licence and reliable access to a suitable vehicle
- Valid Australian working rights
- The ability to work consistently, maintain professional boundaries, and collaborate effectively with a broader support team
