Job Summary
Disability Services Specialist Supervisor leads and supervises a team of Waiver Services Specialists to determine eligibility and funding for HCBS Waivers (including AD, TBI, CDD, DDAD, and FSW). Responsibilities include coaching and mentoring staff, developing internal procedures, ensuring compliance and timely service delivery, and serving as a liaison between DHHS, Medicaid providers, families, and stakeholders. The role involves analyzing medical documentation, evaluating level of care, authorizing Medicaid payments, guiding staff through appeals and disputes, tracking data, creating training tools, and driving continuous program improvements. Ideal candidates bring strong leadership in human services or Medicaid programs, knowledge of HCBS waivers, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to person-centered practices. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Nebraska’s Aged & Disabled or DD service systems, experience supervising in health/human services, and proficiency with Therap, NFocus, and Microsoft Office. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social work, sociology, human services, or related field; experience in specialized developmental disabilities service system; habilitation and/or case management services; experience leading, coordinating, directing, monitoring, and/or supervising others.
