Job Summary
Two-person, married-couple Flex Houseparent roles at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, and guidance for groups of approximately 8–13 students, including daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transportation to activities, and leadership of devotions and chapel visits. The roles operate on a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule with eventual transition to a placed houseparent, living with the same group of students. Responsibilities include budgeting, household reporting, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, and coordinating with school routines to support students’ academic, emotional, and social development. Relocation assistance is provided and a comprehensive benefits package is included.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role requires couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
Additional Requirements
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Desire to follow on-campus policies and care standards
