Disability and Benefits Management Specialist - Challenger (Cambridge)

Job Summary
Manage short-term and long-term disability claims, return-to-work programs, and workplace accommodations for the Fastfrate Group. Process WSIB, CSST, and WSBC injury claims from filing through hearings, ensuring accurate medical information and report completion. Administer employee benefits enrollments, terminations, and revisions via the carrier platform while reconciling monthly billings and collecting earnings data. Generate statistical analysis on workplace incidents and prepare disability management reports. Liaise with Payroll to verify compensation accuracy and resolve benefit payment arrears. Collaborate with HR service providers and the Health & Safety Committee to support continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in HR, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years disability / claims management and workplace accommodations experience
- Intermediate user of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and independently with individuals at various levels
Desired Qualifications
- Experience conducting ergonomic assessments
- Experience in other HR functions including benefits administration
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
- Completion of courses under the National Institute for Disability Management and Rehabilitation (NIDMAR), Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) and/or Certified Return To Work Coordinator (CRTWC)
- Experience in the transportation industry
