Job Summary
Oversee all daily field operations on heavy civil dirt work construction projects, leading and supervising field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment resources. Coordinate project activities with Project Managers, clients, inspectors, and vendors while planning work activities to maintain schedules and budgets. Ensure safety compliance through daily meetings, hazard analyses, and inspections, and monitor quality control against project specifications. Order materials and equipment, maintain accurate daily reports and production tracking, and mentor foremen and field employees. Address field issues immediately to keep projects moving efficiently. Requires 2 years of superintendent experience in earthwork, excavation, grading, and utilities; valid driver's license and ability to travel weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of superintendent experience in heavy civil dirt work construction
- Experience with earthwork, excavation, grading, utilities, road construction, landfills, and site development
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules
- Experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction management software
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel and work out of town during the week as project needs require
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification
- MSHA certification
- Experience on prevailing wage, Davis-Bacon, municipal, industrial, or energy projects
- GPS machine control and grade control knowledge
