Job Summary
Operate electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam-powered construction equipment such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders to excavate, move, and grade earth. Control levers, pedals, and throttles to raise, lower, and rotate booms and buckets while following signals from helpers or sight. Inspect machinery for defects, notify supervisors of malfunctions, and clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment. Signal truck drivers to position vehicles for loading dirt and rocks while avoiding hazards like utility lines and moving equipment. Maintain constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather, noise, and dust. Requires 4 years of Journeyman-level experience and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of Journeyman-level experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to operate electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam powered power construction equipment, such as a motor grader, bulldozer, scraper, shovel, derrick, tractor, front-end loader or other power equipment to excavate, move or grade earth, erect structures, move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties
- Positions may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds
- working at elevations, on uneven surfaces, or in confined spaces
- Employees must possess sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities
