Job Summary
Director, Wastewater at CIMA+ leads the growth and delivery of the municipal wastewater practice across Ontario, with hybrid work options from Mississauga, Markham, or Kitchener offices. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and design direction on major wastewater and municipal infrastructure projects; directing planning, design, construction, and commissioning; overseeing budgeting, risk, and quality; serving as a trusted advisor to municipal clients and regulators; driving business development, client relationships, and project pursuits; mentoring staff and contributing to sector growth. Requires a Civil/Environmental/Chemical engineering degree, P.Eng. in Ontario, and 15+ years of municipal wastewater experience, plus strong leadership, communication, and client-network in Ontario (GTA and Southwestern Ontario).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
- Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal wastewater consulting, engineering, and project leadership
- Demonstrated experience leading significant wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction
- Strong expertise in wastewater treatment, sewage collection systems, pumping stations, and municipal infrastructure planning
- Proven success in managing client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and leading multidisciplinary project teams
- Thorough understanding of environmental assessment processes, regulatory approvals, municipal standards, and infrastructure delivery frameworks
- Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and team development skills
- Established network of municipal client relationships within Ontario, particularly within the GTA and Southwestern Ontario
