Job Summary
Director VP Engineering role leading data center power systems engineering, interconnection studies, and compliance with NERC/FERC standards; responsible for building and scaling a practice, driving regulatory/commercial strategy, mentoring a senior engineering team, overseeing power system modeling and studies, and developing client relationships with hyperscalers, utilities, and EPC firms. Requires leadership experience, advanced power systems expertise, experience with ISO/RTO interconnections, and travel ~25–35%. Location includes Irving, TX HQ with in-person responsibilities and remote work options; compensation includes base salary, bonus, and equity participation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
- Master’s degree in Power Systems preferred
- 10–15+ years of power systems engineering experience
- Experience supporting data centers, hyperscalers, or large-load interconnection projects
- Prior leadership or practice management experience preferred
- Strong expertise in power system modeling tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, TSAT, PowerFactory, ASPEN, and RTDS
- Proven experience leading system impact and facility studies across major ISOs/RTOs
- Deep understanding of NERC reliability standards and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of full power value chain including generation, transmission, and distribution systems
- Experience working with utilities, EPC firms, and large infrastructure clients
- Demonstrated ability to develop and grow engineering services revenue
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Willingness to travel approximately 25–35%
