Director, US and Global Forecasting and Analytics - Infectious Disease

Job Summary
Lead US and global short-term and long-term demand forecasts for infectious disease assets using robust, patient-based and market-based models. Own forecast methodology, assumptions, and governance while integrating primary market research, epidemiology, and real-world data into decision-grade outputs. Partner with Finance, Market Access, Marketing, and Sales to shape commercial expectations, quantify risks through scenario analyses, and support executive decision-making. Manage forecasting-adjacent analytics resources, prioritize internal analysts and external vendors, and champion the deployment of AI and automation to drive efficiency. Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, articulating forecast drivers and changes for in-market and late-stage pipeline assets. Work hybrid, averaging three days per week from the office in Wilmington, DE, within the Global Insights, Analytics & Forecasting team at AstraZeneca.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, scientific, or business-related field, such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer/Data Science
- 4+ years' experience in US and global pharmaceutical commercial forecasting, including in-market and late-stage pipeline assets
- Hands-on model ownership experience, including build, refresh, and performance tracking across short- and long-term horizons
- Expertise in scenario-based forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and driver-based narratives to support senior decision-making
- Strong capability integrating multiple data types, such as IQVIA, claims, epidemiology, RWD/RWE, and primary research, into coherent, decision-grade forecasts
- Demonstrated forecast governance and model risk discipline, including traceable assumptions, documentation, and clear explanations
- Strong understanding of US market access and payer dynamics and how they impact demand, including coverage, contracting, channel, and policy
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, executive-ready insights, options, and recommendations
- Strong commercial competence across key demand levers, including positioning, adoption, competitive dynamics, and lifecycle events
- Minimum of three days per week from the office
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree, such as MBA, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Decision Sciences, Data Science, or a related field
- Infectious Disease and/or Rare Disease experience, including familiarity with immunization dynamics, patient-based forecasting, and lifecycle management in preventive or infectious disease therapies
- Change leadership: builds adoption for new tools, processes, and ways of working across cross-functional stakeholders
- Product perspective for forecasting: defines user needs, success metrics, and a roadmap for portfolio forecasting capabilities
