Job Summary
Oversee Trustee records, giving processes, and administrative workflows while ensuring information remains accurate and confidential. Develop stewardship strategies to keep Trustees informed and engaged, coordinating tailored communications, briefings, and events. Serve as the key lead for Board of Trustees and advisory board meetings, managing logistics, agenda development, and digital briefing materials. Track prospective Trustees, lead onboarding orientation, and support ongoing education regarding governance roles. Collaborate with senior leadership across the OEVP, Dean & CEO, and Development departments to refine systems and enhance the volunteer leader experience. Manage the Assistant Manager of Trustee Administration and drive operational support for advisory boards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of management experience
- 9 to 10+ years of relevant experience in board relations, governance, development, institutional administration, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of board governance and Trustee engagement best practices
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive information
- Exceptional organizational, writing, communication, and relationship-management skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with senior leaders, Trustees, and cross-functional partners
- Experience with CRM/development databases and Microsoft 365
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and perform in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
- Possesses the presence, inclusiveness, and communication skills necessary to be an effective representative of NYU Langone Health and a liaison to the donor base
- History of developing and enhancing relationships through authenticity, professionalism, and trust
- Ability to take ownership of opportunities, challenges, and decisions to drive work and organization forward
- Ability to lead, direct and motivate others; encourage and ensure professional development opportunities for reporting staff and act as a mentor
- Willingness to meet with reporting staff individually and as a full team
- Ability to embrace and support institutional values and competencies and ensure that they are reflected in all aspects of the work
- Ability to contribute daily to an environment where differences are welcomed and supported by embracing the perspectives of all
