Job Summary
Senior Director leading international trade compliance for Teledyne’s Instrumentation Segment across the U.S., Europe, and Asia; responsible for directing and overseeing export controls, customs classification and valuation, preferential trade programs, denied party screening, technology transfers, recordkeeping, audits, training, and the development of trade compliance policies and systems. Oversees a trade compliance organization, coordinates with Corporate International Trade Compliance, serves as a designated Empowered Official, interacts with government agencies, manages due diligence for acquisitions, and drives annual goals and training while maintaining segment-wide regulatory adherence across manufacturing, R&D, and sales activities. The role requires travel domestically and internationally and emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, risk monitoring, and corrective action.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in business, law, international trade, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible trade compliance experience
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. export and customs regulations; familiarity with non-U.S. regimes
- Leadership experience managing and mentoring compliance staff
- Strong judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a U.S. Person under export control regulations
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
