Job Summary
Director, Technology Delivery leading end-to-end strategy and execution of digital initiatives, directing solution delivery to align with Sun Life’s objectives and modernize the customer journey. Oversees governance, architectural alignment, and post-implementation optimization; drives innovation, efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration. Requires strong technical leadership, enterprise-scale delivery experience, and deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot, API design (OpenAPI/Swagger), REST principles, cloud platforms, SQL databases, and Agile practices, with experience in the insurance/financial services sector.
Required Qualifications
- University graduate, preferably in IT, Computer Science or related disciplines
- Over 12 years of working experience with expertise in Java, Spring Boot
- Broad knowledge of financial services &/or insurance industry desirable
- Oversee the full software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Strong track record in leading teams to design, build, and implement solutions at enterprise scale
- Experience of system development on Cloud Platform
- Strong SQL knowledge (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Demonstrated expertise in API design and development, with a deep understanding of best practices for system integration
- Expert understanding of RESTful API design principles, OpenAPI 3.0/Swagger
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with stakeholders
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English
- Specialized knowledge: Deep understanding of technologies and their application in the insurance sector
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and customer needs
- Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making
- Practical experience in leading complex projects
- Practical experience in working in Agile with IT multiple teams and Business Stakeholders
