Job Summary
Lead a new Technical Product Management function within Abbott's Engineering & Architecture organization, establishing the TPM operating model and building a global TPM team. Drive strategic product delivery across platform, developer experience, and digital transformation initiatives; identify risks, make trade-offs, and champion AI-enabled approaches to product development. Define and evolve TPM frameworks, intake, prioritization, roadmap governance, and portfolio management; build metrics and reporting to demonstrate product performance and delivery effectiveness. Set up and scale a global TPM organization with clear career paths and development plans; advocate for the customer and translate complex business challenges into actionable strategies and roadmaps. Establish high standards for product management execution, communication, and operational excellence; influence leaders across engineering, architecture, and business functions. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 10+ years of relevant experience, enterprise-scale product leadership, governance and portfolio-management capabilities, and proficiency with AI/ML applications in product discovery and delivery. While not required, preferred backgrounds include software engineering or technical architecture, experience leading globally distributed teams, and experience in regulated healthcare/life sciences contexts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- 10+ years of experience in Technical Product Management, Product Management, or related technology leadership roles
- Experience leading complex technology products and platforms at enterprise scale
- Experience building or transforming product management functions, teams, or capabilities
- Strong technical background with the ability to engage deeply with engineering and architecture teams
- Experience establishing product governance, prioritization frameworks, and portfolio management processes
- Practical experience applying AI/ML tools to improve product discovery, delivery, engineering productivity, or decision-making
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive influence skills
