Director, Technical Business Development

Job Summary

Develop and execute business development strategies to expand ONE's presence across target industries, identifying and qualifying new customer opportunities while building a robust sales pipeline. Serve as the primary technical interface during engagements, presenting battery system capabilities and translating customer requirements into commercially viable solutions. Establish trusted relationships with OEMs, system integrators, and government agencies, representing ONE at meetings, conferences, and trade shows. Lead capture strategies for new business and contribute technical content for proposals and negotiations. Partner with Engineering, Product, and Manufacturing teams to ensure customer needs drive product development, while maintaining accurate opportunity forecasting and reporting pipeline health to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the high-voltage battery or energy storage industry
  • Minimum 5 years of technical business development, sales engineering, strategic account management, or related customer-facing experience
  • Experience within one or more of the following industries: Defense, Rail, Grid Energy Storage, Commercial Truck, Specialty Vehicles
  • Extensive knowledge of Lithium-ion battery technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of Cell chemistry
  • Extensive knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Extensive knowledge of Pack architecture
  • Extensive knowledge of Thermal management
  • Extensive knowledge of Power electronics
  • Extensive knowledge of High-voltage system integration
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with engineering, procurement, program management, and executive leadership
  • Proven success developing strategic customer relationships and growing technical sales pipelines
  • Experience preparing technical proposals and supporting capture activities
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

  • Active U.S. Security Clearance or ability to obtain one
