Job Summary

Director, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting responsible for overseeing technical accounting, SOX controls and external reporting within a publicly traded environment. Leads preparation and filing of SEC reports, ensures full compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and provides authoritative guidance on complex accounting matters. Serves as subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and SEC rules, analyzes complex transactions, monitors FASB/SEC/PCAOB developments, coordinates with external advisors, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial disclosures. Oversees SEC filings, MD&A disclosures and earnings releases, maintains compliance with SEC rules (Reg S-X, Reg S-K), supports SOX 404B, and works with internal audit to address deficiencies and drive continuous improvement in control processes. Requires a Bachelor's in Accounting (or related field) and a CPA, 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, Big Four/public company experience, SEC reporting expertise, proficiency with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, ActiveDisclosure), and strong communication and analytical skills. Location: hybrid in Bedford, MA; travel ~10%.
