Job Summary
Lead practice revenue targets and manage project scope, tasks, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for tax technology professionals. Oversee functional and technical direction of projects, including requirements analysis, process design, configuration, and implementation of enterprise-class tax automation software. Maintain client partnerships, provide technical leadership on project status, and assist with business development by preparing proposals and engagement agreements. Mentor staff, develop client workplans, track adherence to timelines and budgets, and review deliverables for client approval. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects, create metrics for success, and enforce project methodology and standards. Requires 5-7 years of tax automation experience and 50%+ independent travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from a four-year college or university
- Minimum of five to seven years of experience providing tax automation services
- Accounting, Tax, or Information Technology degrees
- Deep knowledge of the software solutions (Sabrix, Vertex, and/or Taxware)
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Project, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
- Hands-on experience with transaction tax integration touch points with a major enterprise resource planning (ERP) system (Oracle, JDE, PeopleSoft, or SAP)
- Valid driver's license
- Supervisory responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant designation
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Understanding of Software development lifecycles (SDLC, Agile, etc.)
- Experience with Vertex, Sabrix, Taxware, or other tax software
