Job Summary
Lyft seeks a strategic Director of Tax to lead the income tax planning function, driving enterprise-wide strategies to optimize the global tax position. Key responsibilities include defining and leading comprehensive US international and global tax strategies, serving as a senior advisor on intercompany transactions, leading research and analysis on complex tax matters, overseeing the income tax provision process, managing tax reserves, and mentoring tax professionals. Candidates should possess extensive corporate tax experience, particularly with multinational corporations, and demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive corporate income tax experience, focusing on tax planning for multinational corporations with operations in EMEA and APAC
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing tax professionals and cross-functional initiatives at scale
- Deep expertise in US international tax and transfer pricing principles
- Proven track record developing tax forecasts and building sophisticated tax models
- Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and ASC 450
- Ability to cultivate executive-level relationships and communicate complex tax matters clearly
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills
- Ability to balance individual ownership and accountability with cross-functional collaboration
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
Desired Qualifications
- CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation
- Combined Big 4 or law firm and technology industry experience
- Accounting system experience (Oracle or similar ERP)
Additional Requirements
- Must work in-office at least 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
