Job Summary
Direct the Targeted Protein Degradation initiative within Amgen's IPP, defining and executing a bold scientific vision to expand the degrader platform, build next-generation capabilities, establish strategic partnerships, and translate cutting-edge biology into transformative medicines. Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning chemical biology, proteomics, chemistry, and translational sciences; drive strategic execution of discovery programs, identify high-value opportunities, and incorporate AI/data-driven approaches to improve target identification, ligand discovery, and prediction of therapeutic outcomes. Shape platform strategy, foster collaboration with Therapeutic Areas and Development, and communicate a compelling vision to scientifically engage internal and external audiences while maintaining high scientific rigor and collaboration across functions.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree and 4 years of scientific experience OR Master's degree and 8 years of scientific experience OR Bachelor's degree and 10 years of scientific experience; plus at least 4 years of direct people/leadership experience in teams/projects/programs or resource allocation.
