Job Summary
Manage specific surgical departments, ensuring 24-hour nursing service provision and high-quality patient care while proactively identifying and resolving operational problems. Direct staff development through mentoring, coaching, and performance reviews, while hiring new personnel and assessing competency. Analyze staffing needs based on patient volume and acuity, participate in budget development, and implement cost-control measures to maximize departmental efficiency. Develop and annually revise policies and procedures, maintain departmental quality improvement plans, and ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements. Communicate with the Chief Nursing Officer and integrate services with other hospital departments to support coordinated operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
- 5 years as RN
- 2 years in supervisory role in appropriate clinical area
- Current California RN License
- BCLS
