Job Summary
Direct the end-to-end external supply network planning for DePuy Synthes’ external manufacturing ecosystem, acting as the primary owner of global supply chain integration across multiple countries. Lead a 15–20 person team spanning multiple locations to ensure reliable supply, quality, risk mitigation, and cost competitiveness; drive S&OP processes, supplier development, and cross-functional programs (NPI launch readiness, capacity planning, and continuous improvement). Represent DPS and EMSI interests with external manufacturers (e.g., Jabil), align demand and capacity with external partners, and manage performance through metrics, budgeting, and governance across global operations. Foster strategic partnerships, manage supplier risk, and ensure continuity of supply while delivering wins for internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications emphasize a BA/BS, 10–12 years of related experience, matrixed leadership, regulatory experience, collaboration, and strong communication; preferred experience in medical devices and with Jabil or large global CM networks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field or equivalent
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in supply network planning, external manufacturing, supplier management, manufacturing operations, or related discipline
- Proven experience leading global, matrixed, and virtual teams with direct accountability for results
- Direct oversight of strategic external manufacturing partners and complex supplier networks
- Experience operating in a highly regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive)
- Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration, risk management, and long-range planning
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain planning, constraints, and analytics-driven decision making
- Preferred: Medical device industry experience
- Direct experience partnering with contract manufacturers like Jabil
- Background in Operational Excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Demonstrated success leading supplier capability development and continuous improvement initiatives at scale
- Language: English required; additional languages preferred
- Travel: Approximately 10%, domestic and international
