Job Summary
Director of Supply Chain in Japan responsible for building, implementing, and managing Scholar Rock’s commercial supply chain in Japan. Oversees daily operations related to artwork, secondary packaging, and distribution, and works with global teams (primarily US and Ireland) to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliant, reliable product supply. Leads external packaging CMO relationships, supports packaging qualification, coordinates logistics for importation and distribution to wholesalers, drives continuous improvement with KPIs, and oversees budgeting and cost control. Requires leadership, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making to deliver timely product supply and high customer satisfaction across Japan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, chemistry, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in Biopharma industry, with a minimum of 10 years at Associate Director level or above
- Commercial product launch experience including artwork, packaging operations and transportation/distribution
- Strong strategic planning skills with a strong interest in developing team and individuals
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Good level of spoken and written English
Desired Qualifications
