Job Summary

Director, Strategy – Digital, Data, & Marketing leads strategic initiatives and agenda-setting for Bloomingdale’s Digital, Data & Marketing function, partnering with the SVP to translate complex analysis into actionable plans, drive transformation initiatives (including first-party data activation, AI-enabled personalization, and GEO), develop strategic frameworks, manage cross-functional dependencies, and communicate with senior leadership across Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s Inc. The role requires strong executive communication, ability to influence without direct authority, adaptability in a large, matrixed organization, and deep fluency across digital marketing domains such as digital commerce, CRM and loyalty, SEO/generative search, data science, and promotional strategy. Key responsibilities include defining the function’s strategic agenda, leading quarterly and annual planning, monitoring industry trends, overseeing initiative portfolios with clear milestones, and supporting the SVP through briefing materials and stakeholder engagement. The position emphasizes transformation leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering measurable impact in luxury retail marketing initiatives."

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in strategy, management consulting, or marketing and digital roles
  • Experience operating in a matrixed environment
  • Strong executive communication skills
  • Familiarity with digital commerce, paid media, CRM and loyalty, SEO and generative search, customer analytics, data science, and promotional strategy
