Director, Strategic Philanthropy and Partnerships

Job Summary
Lead strategic partnership development across UHNWIs, donor-advised funds, corporations, and institutional funders to secure transformational, multi-year funding commitments. Develop compelling investment narratives and proposals that translate global health priorities into fundable opportunities, while building a disciplined portfolio underpinned by donor intelligence and CRM practices. Execute the US philanthropy strategy in alignment with global priorities, coordinating with teams across programs, finance, and communications to ensure operational viability. Lead and mentor a high-performing fundraising team, strengthening capability in institutional fundraising and fostering a collaborative culture. Report to the Head of North America with a dotted line to the Head of Global Philanthropy.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience in UHNWI/major donor and institutional philanthropy fundraising
- Experience working within or in close partnership with international NGOs, global health organizations or development-focused nonprofits
- A proven track record building new funder relationships and securing multi-year, seven-figure-plus gifts and complex institutional or government grants
- Deep, established relationships across the global foundation, major donor, donor-advised funds and philanthropic communities
- Strong strategic and hands-on capability, spanning strategy development, business development, proposal writing and donor stewardship
- Experience managing donor pipelines and CRM systems to support prioritization, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making
- Experience leading, developing and mentoring high-performing fundraising teams
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex global health and development programming into compelling donor narratives
- Executive presence and credibility, with the ability to engage, influence and build trust with senior leaders, Board members, philanthropists, and institutional partners
- Sound professional judgement, diplomacy and discretion in navigating sensitive, complex and high-value donor relationships
