Job Summary
Director, Strategic Partnerships + Philanthropy leads fundraising and partnership efforts to secure early philanthropic capital for carbon project development, supporting feasibility work, project design, and community engagement prior to carbon credit revenues. Works with Finance to support buyer/offtake discussions, blended-finance proposals, and corporate partnerships to align philanthropic and carbon-market funding strategies. Responsibilities include developing a philanthropic fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, proposal development and storytelling, donor stewardship and impact reporting, representing Eden in climate finance forums, shaping carbon-market positioning with the Finance team, preparing investor and buyer materials, CRM data stewardship, grants management, and cross-functional collaboration to align fundraising goals with project milestones. Qualifications emphasize a strong track record in conservation/climate/intl development or impact investing, networks across foundations and high-net-worth donors, CRM proficiency, and familiarity with voluntary carbon markets. The role is remote with travel up to 40% and requires eligibility to work in country of residence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) in a relevant field such as environmental science, climate/forestry, international development, business/finance, or nonprofit management
- Minimum of 5, preferably 8+ years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, including managing $5M+ annual portfolios and securing major gifts, $1M+ grants, and partnerships for international conservation or climate initiatives
- Experience engaging foundations, corporate social responsibility programs, and high-net-worth donors
- Proven experience with CRM / donor management systems, with a track record of leveraging data for strategic decision-making
- Demonstrated familiarity with voluntary carbon markets and nature-based carbon projects strongly preferred
