Job Summary

Director/Sr. Director, Financial Planning & Analysis responsible for leading FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and variance analysis, to support management and program teams. Partners with functional leaders and cross-functional program teams to manage program budgets, develop planning calendars, and guide allocation of resources. Will prepare and present variance analyses, dashboards, and reporting packages for program teams, leadership, and the Board. Plays a key role in developing financial models, supporting strategic initiatives (including financing use of proceeds and potential collaborations), administering the Adaptive Insights FP&A tool, and implementing scalable FP&A policies and systems. Must-have qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related field; 12+ years of FP&A experience; biotech budgeting expertise; GAAP/SEC familiarity; advanced Excel/PowerPoint; familiarity with Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, Coupa; strong analytical and communication skills; collaborative mindset; willingness to operate in a hybrid Boston environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA highly preferred
  • 12+ years experience in financial planning and analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of budgeting processes specific to the biotech industry, including R&D forecasting and clinical trial budgeting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and experience with public company compliance highly desired
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Adaptive Insights or other financial planning software preferred; NetSuite and Coupa experience also highly valued
  • Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate in a high growth environment
  • Highly collaborative with strong influencing skills and track record of exceptional business partnership
  • Ability to flex from embracing tactical requirements to strategy as needed
