Job Summary
Director-level leadership role within Gong’s Solutions Engineering team, responsible for building and scaling a high-performing Specialist Solutions Engineering group that drives Gong’s revenue growth by delivering expert business acumen and technical knowledge across strategic products. You will design the team's strategy and operating model, serve as a bridge between Sales and Product, embed the team within Product Pods to influence the product roadmap, and enable the field with the technical and business collateral needed to close deals. Responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring engineers, fostering cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, and Enablement, optimizing workflows, creating impactful collateral, and upholding the company’s operating principles. Qualifications emphasize a 12+ year track record in solutions engineering, 6+ years leading teams, proven ability to lead a customer-facing organization, and a demonstrated capacity to drive revenue through strategic programs and direct deal support. Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant solutions engineering experience
- 6+ years of experience building and managing high-performing solutions engineering teams
- leadership experience in a customer-facing role
- ability to mentor, coach, and develop staff
- proven track record in driving revenue impact through team strategy, programs, and direct deal support
- experience collaborating across Product, Marketing, Enablement, Sales and GTM functions
- strong business acumen and understanding of GTM workflows
- familiarity with data flows, AI/ML concepts, analytics, APIs/webhooks, and JSON
- exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
