Job Summary
Director, Solutions Engineering leads the pre-sales and technical solutions function for Turnitin’s EdTech products, partnering with Sales to support strategic opportunities, and mentoring a high-performing Solutions Engineering team across education markets. The role requires building scalable, secure technical solutions for education customers, conducting executive-level product demonstrations, handling complex customer engagements, and aligning solutions with business objectives. Key duties include leadership and coaching of the Solutions Engineering team, developing solution strategies, managing capacity and hiring, performing needs assessments, delivering value-based solutions, mastering LMS platforms, data integrations and APIs, ensuring data privacy compliance, collaborating with Product, Customer Success, and Onboarding teams, and driving metrics such as win rate and sales cycle efficiency. Preferred qualifications include experience with AI technologies, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and a technical background in software engineering or IT; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is encouraged; the role is remote-first with occasional travel.”,
Required Qualifications
- 6–12+ years of progressively responsible experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, or Solution Architecture
- 2–5+ years of demonstrable team leadership or management experience
- Experience in Education Technology (EdTech), SaaS, or enterprise software
- Strong understanding of the EdTech ecosystem technologies and ability to design and architect effective solutions to complex technical problems
- Demonstrated ability to tailor messaging across technical and executive audiences and align technical solutions with business objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Education Technology, or related field
