Job Summary
Director-level software engineering leadership role focusing on technical strategy, architecture, governance, and delivery across the organization. Partner with executives to identify opportunities, define requirements, evaluate solutions, and guide development from concept to production. Lead and mentor engineering teams, conduct code reviews, assess vendor deliverables, and participate in hands-on software work when needed. Drive engineering best practices, coding standards, and software lifecycle processes; ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business objectives. Oversee relationships with outsourced development partners and consultants, review external codebases, and translate business requirements into technical specifications. Lead AI and data enablement initiatives, promote a data-driven development approach, and collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams. Ensure high reliability, performance, security, and compliance across systems; manage documentation, change management, and technology modernization. Collaborate with department leaders to identify opportunities for automation and innovation, and act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical resources. Preferred experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS), AI/LLM-powered applications, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, CRM/telephony/integration projects, cybersecurity best practices, and workflow automation tools. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven experience leading software architecture, application development, and technology strategy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong hands-on development experience with React, Python, SQL
- Experience designing and supporting modern web applications, APIs, and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, system design, and application scalability
- Experience working with third-party development firms, consultants, and offshore development teams
- Ability to review, evaluate, and improve existing codebases developed by others
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
