Job Summary
Director of Software Engineering responsible for strategic and technical leadership of PrecisionCare’s software platforms. Defines and owns the software development strategy and technical roadmap, leads modernization initiatives (legacy transformation to modern architectures), and ensures secure, scalable, high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives. Oversees architecture, engineering standards, and delivery execution while mentoring engineering managers and senior developers. Partners with Product, executive leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders in the US and Canada to translate business strategy into technical roadmaps. Emphasizes secure development practices, AI-assisted development, and continuous improvement of engineering processes. Fully remote work environment with collaboration across distributed teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- 5+ years leading engineering teams (managers preferred)
- Direct experience building software in healthcare or regulated environments with exposure to HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 Type II/Type @ compliance and PHI handling standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Expert-level understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, and web technologies
- Experience with .NET, Angular, SQL Server, and cloud-ready architectures
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Git, and release management
- Experience implementing AI tools and workflows to improve engineering efficiency
- Strong focus on secure development practices and compliance
